By admin on June 30th, 2014
AIR21 Academy of Developmental Logistics is a specialized training organization for logistics learning and corporate formation. Through its leader Samuel C. Bautista, and the academy’s pool of learning professionals, employees and staff of the Lina Group of Companies are assured of holistic development in the industry.
In the quest to strengthen his capacity to hone professionals, Mr. Bautista was recently conferred his certification as a Diplomate in Workplace Learning Performance (WLP) by the Philippine Society for Training and Development (PSTD) during the 39th PSTD National Convention. PSTD is a network of human resource development (HRD) practitioners and WLP professionals in the Philippines, and its thrust is to upgrade, professionalize, and regulate the practice of WLP in the country, through assessment and classification of WLP practitioners based on a 12-point competency standards.
PSTD initially launched the WLP Certification program this year and Sam Bautista, along with Ms. Hilda Valerio of Philex Mining Academy, was the first recipient of the WLP Diplomate Certification, after completing the pre-qualification screening and actual competency assessment.
“Learning is a continuous process,” shares Mr. Bautista “and as WLP practitioners, we need to exert efforts and devote extra time to learn more.” According to him, the training and preparation that comes with the certification gave him the opportunity to determine his competencies and grow his knowledge through the program. The challenge lies in ranking himself among the competency standards as this entail self-awareness on his strengths and weaknesses.
He adds, “Trainers or I would say, WLP practitioners should not be afraid to dig in the dirt, plant some seeds, and laboriously nurture it, as you will see the beautiful results later. This is how we should treat each of our trainees or students.”
Mr. Bautista is a Customs Broker and logistics practitioner. His service in the industry grew his passion to educate, and he has been teaching part-time in customs colleges since 1993. In 2010, he shifted to full time professional training for the logistics and customs industry through the Lina Group of Companies’ AIR21 Academy of Developmental Logistics. Mr. Bautista is a member of the International Network of Customs Universities (INCU) and a presenter in the Inaugural INCU Global Conference held at Baku, Azerbaijan last May 21-23, 2014.
