Manila Times partners with PanahonTV
By admin on July 16th, 2015
In an effort to better deliver weather updates across the country, PanahonTV, the only weather-exclusive program in the Philippines, signed a contract with The Manila Times last Monday, July 13, 2015 to bring daily weather forecasts to the broadsheet’s readers.
Donna May Lina-Flavier, Executive Producer of PanahonTV, signed an agreement with Manila Times CEO and Executive Director Dante Francis Ang II, alongside Publisher Rene Bas and Editor-in-Chief Nerilyn Tenorio at the Manila Times office in Intramuros. PanahonTV will be the broadsheet’s sole weather source, providing readers with three-day weather forecasts, as well as well as the daily weather outlook.
“With our continuous expansion for PanahonTV, definitely, the Manila Times should be part of PanahonTV’s network of prestigious media partners,” said Lina-Flavier.
“Weather is an important content for the media,” Ang said. “People rely on the weather for a number of things. Not only during storms, also for their daily living. So it’s something that we’re happy to have in our paper, thanks to PanahonTV.”
Starting July 16, the weather corner will be published in Section A of the Manila Times.
The Manila Times, known to be one of the most widely distributed broadsheets in the Philippines, was established in 1898, making it the oldest English-language daily in the country.
PanahonTV broadcasts straight from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) Weather and Forecasting Center office, giving hourly updates on the weather outlook. It is produced by UBE MEDIA, Inc., the marketing and communications arm of the Lina Group of Companies. No Comments
